PAINTINGS…THERAPY FOR THE SOUL

il_570xN_182323201

Why does a painting move one person to tears and another will comment on its beauty but have no emotional reaction?  We are an amalgam of our genetics and memories. We view the world through this very unique combination.  A piece of art may pull on a heart string, stirring  an emotion held long in the unconscious.  The experience serves as therapy for the soul, allowing us to process sadness or relive moments of joy. Examples for me:

chignon de plage

Viewing art is not something we do but rather an experience.

As Elbert Hubbard said, “Art is not a thing, it is a way”.
