DIY Painted Jewelry Hanger

DIY Painted Jewelry Hanger It’s a fresh new year and time to get organized! I was going to write ‘super’ organized but realized I never quite reach that level. I start each year with those intentions, planning to make my pantry look like the immaculate examples I see on Pinterest (the ones that have everything in glass jars and no packaging in sight) or cull my closet to the point it only contain items I actually love to wear. Although, I never seem to get to this level of perfection, I have done a bang up job on my jewelry organization :).

Messy Jewelry Organization I was frustrated with my system of keeping jewelry in boxes. I struggled to find what I was looking for and when/if I did, it was usually in a tangled mess. If you have the same challenges you will find this jewelry hanger a wonderful solution.

Supplies

Unfinished wood frame of your choice
Various paints and/or stains
Painter’s or Masking Tape
Measuring tape
Craft paint brushes
Sand paper or sanding sponge
Clean cloth or wood cleaning wipes
Corkboard tiles
All-purpose glue
Exacto Knife (make sure to use on a protected surface)

Painted Jewelry Hanger Close Up Start by lightly sanding and wiping clean the wood frame. Then add visual interest by painting the frame in the color of your choice.  I chose to paint white bands on the sides and along the bottom of the wooden frame. Measure the paint locations and use tape to protect the areas to be left natural.

The cork is then measured, cut to fit and adhered using Elmer’s all-purpose glue. I chose colorful pushpins to hold the necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
