TEMPO-Thank You To Austin and It’s Artists

TEMPO-Tree Huggers We have a new addition to our neighborhood park thanks to the TEMPO project. This beautiful installation, titled Tree Hugger, was created by artist Brent Baggett. The graceful curves and openness of the abstract leaf give the sense of being physically embraced by the sculpture.
TEMPO-Tree Hugger 1 The warmth of the honey hued wood encourages interaction and exploration.
TEMPO-Tree Hugger 4 This project is part of Art in Public Places, a program of the City of Austin’s Economic Development Department.  The project was officially launched this past November with the unveiling of four art installations located in parks outside the downtown area.  TEMPO intends to advance the public’s understanding of visual art and enhance the aesthetic quality of public places.
